SHANGHAI, January 20 (SMM) – The Inventories of rebar across Chinese steelmakers and social warehouses stood at 5.59 million mt as of January 20, up 412,500 mt or 8% from a week earlier. Stocks are down 1.63 million mt or 22.6% from a year earlier.

In-plant inventories at Chinese steel makers rose 13,200 mt or 0.8% from a week earlier to 1.73 million mt. Stocks are 1.36 million mt or 44.1% lower than the same period last year.

Inventories at social warehouses rose 399,300 mt or 11.53% on the week and stood at 3.86 million mt, down 266,700 mt or 6.5% from a year ago.
