The Times New Lithium Ion Battery Project (Phase I) is located in the north area of Hongtang, Tongxiang High-tech Zone, with a total investment of 7 billion yuan and a total construction area of about 710000 square meters. It is planned to build a new lithium-ion battery production base.
On the same day, some investors asked on the interactive platform: "Hello, what is the current stage of your company's research on sodium ion batteries, and are there any breakthroughs?" Will sodium electrons gradually replace lithium batteries? "
In this regard, Ningde Times replied: "Hello investors, the company has started the industrial layout of sodium ion batteries, and will form a basic industrial chain in 2023." Thank you for your attention. "
On whether sodium-ion batteries will replace lead-acid batteries, which are widely used as starting batteries for cars, Ningde Times said that the first-generation sodium-ion batteries released by the company can be used in various traffic electrification scenarios, especially in high and cold areas, and can flexibly adapt to the application needs of all scenarios in the field of energy storage.
In terms of the use of materials, Ningde Times said that in terms of positive materials for sodium ion batteries, the company has adopted Prussian white materials with higher gram capacity; in terms of negative materials for sodium ion batteries, the company has developed hard carbon materials with unique pore structure, which has the characteristics of high gram capacity, easy de-intercalation and excellent circulation.
In terms of performance, the first generation sodium ion battery developed in Ningde era has the advantages of high energy density, high rate charging, excellent thermal stability, good low temperature performance and high integration efficiency. The energy density of the cell is as high as 160Wh/kg.
