






SHANGHAI, Dec 3 (SMM) - The coke supply is likely to tighten as environmental protection inspection panel will arrive in Heilongjiang, Guizhou, Shaanxi, and Ningxia. The production at coking plants have been cut 30%-40% amid environmental protection in Shanxi. The inventory pressure has eased amid positive shipments.
Some mills ramped up restocking of coke as coke prices trended lower, steel prices increased.
The demand for the coking coal has recently increased, coal mines have been shipping positively, and the inventory of some cost-effective coal types has fallen to a low level. The quotations of coal mines were mostly stable, but some coal types with high inventories are still expected to be lowered.
Coking companies held prices firm. Some mills restocked on rigid demand amid weak demand for coke. The coke prices are expected to stabilise.
