SHANGHAI, Nov 30 (SMM) – The PMI for steel downstream sectors stood at 49.97 in November, down 0.1 point month on month, but up 0.29 point year on year. The seasonally-adjusted composite index stood at 49.77, an increase of 1.37 points MoM and 0.27 point YoY.

The production activities slowed down as a whole in November. There were significant differences of construction and infrastructure activities between north and south China. Affected by the cold winter, most of the projects in the north were either delayed or halted. The recovery of end demand boosted the home appliance and machinery industries, while the automobile and shipbuilding industries maintained high production enthusiasm. The index for production came in at 50.23, down 2.8 points month on month and 0.02 point year on year. The index for new orders stood at 49.6, up 1.77 points on the month and 0.86 point on the year.
