






On November 3, the 2020 National Science and Technology Award Conference was solemnly held in the Great Hall of the people in Beijing. The project "Development and Application of Ultra-low loss oriented Silicon Steel for UHV and High Energy efficiency Power Transmission and Transformation equipment" led by Baosteel won the second prize of "National Science and Technology Progress Award". Four years later, Baosteel once again won the National Science and Technology Award as the leader of the project. Representatives of the project team went to Beijing to attend the award ceremony.
The project "Development and Application of Ultra-low loss oriented Silicon Steel for UHV and High Energy efficiency Power Transmission and Transformation equipment" is led by Baosteel and completed in cooperation with Northeastern University, Global Energy Internet Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Baoding Tianwei Baozhou Electric Co., Ltd. Baosteel shares Chu Shuangjie, Li Guobao, Zhang Huabing, Shen Kanyi, Yang Yongjie, Hou Changjun and Su Dejun participated in the project research and promotion.
Ultra-low loss oriented silicon steel is the core material for manufacturing UHV and high energy efficiency transformer "heart". Its material design, manufacture and use technology is difficult, and the original technology and equipment can not meet the requirements. With the support of the state ministry plan, and centering on the major needs of UHV and energy-efficient power transmission and transformation, Baosteel led the establishment of a "industry-university-research" team to solve the difficult problems of secondary recrystallization of ultra-low loss oriented silicon steel, such as stringent requirements, narrow process window, special equipment functions and complex operating conditions, to carry out systematic innovation of "material design-manufacturing process-production line development-scientific use" to realize mass production and wide application of products.
The project has been granted 37 invention patents (including 4 international patents), 15 utility models, 1 software copyright, 29 papers, 235 core technical secrets, and participated in the formulation of 1 national standard and 2 enterprise standards. a total of 18 brands of new products have been developed, including 10 global debuts and 8 to fill the domestic gap. The project products are used in the world's first and only ±1100kV Changji-Guquante HVDC project, Brazil Meishan ±800kV and other 15 UHVDC projects, with a domestic market share of 98.7%; batch application in the new class of energy-efficient distribution transformers.
The project solves the problem of "sticking neck" in the field of ultra-low loss oriented silicon steel technology, realizes the leading position of China's oriented silicon steel technology in the world, and promotes the high-quality development of China's iron and steel industry. it has laid an important foundation for the global leadership of UHV and high energy efficiency power transmission and transformation technology in China, and has made great contributions to economic and social benefits.
