Operating Rate of Primary Lead Smelters Down 5.88% on Week

SHANGHAI, Sep 24 (SMM) – The average operating rate across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces lost 5.88 percentage points from the previous week to 56.30% in the week ended September 24, an SMM survey showed.

Yongning Gold Lead in Henan started the routine maintenance for autumn this week, which is expected to extend until mid-October. In Hunan, Shuikoushan Zhihui, Yinxing, Jingui all lowered operating rates due to the power rationing, and Shuikoushan Jinxin reduced production for lack of raw materials. The refined lead smelters in Yunnan were not affected by the power rationing.  Jiangxi Jinde and Shuikoushan will conduct maintenance in October.
