Daily crude steel output at CISA key mills fell 5.51% in late June

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.26 million mt per day in the last 11 days of June, down 5.51% from mid-June and up 11.68% from the same period a year ago.

SHANGHAI, Jul 14 (SMM) – China's steel production decreased in late June.

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.26 million mt per day in the last 11 days of June, down 5.51% from mid-June and up 11.68% from the same period a year ago.

Average daily production of pig iron across those mills fell 6.24% from mid-June to 1.94 million mt in late June, and that of steel products fell 0.12% to 2.28 million mt.

As of June 30, inventories of steel products across those mills stood at 13.77 million mt, down 1.93 million mt from mid-June. The stocks were 352,400 mt, or 2.63% higher than the end of last month. The stocks were 2.15 million mt, or 18.46% higher than the beginning of the year, and were 2.54 million mt, or 22.67% higher than the same period last year.
