Xintiangang Steel Group plans to build two 1780m³ blast furnaces

The Tianjin Bureau of Industry and Information Technology issued the capacity replacement plan of Xintiangang Steel Group. The company plans to build two 1,780 m³ blast furnaces, with a total annual iron making capacity of 3.04 million mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul 6 (SMM) — The Tianjin Bureau of Industry and Information Technology issued the capacity replacement plan of Xintiangang Steel Group. The company plans to build two 1,780 m³ blast furnaces, with a total annual iron making capacity of 3.04 million mt. One BF is scheduled for construction in July 2021 and production in March 2022, while the other BF is scheduled for construction in  March 2022 and production in November 2022. The replacement ratio of the two BFs is 1.25:1. The company will dismantle a total of three BFs, including one of capacity 505 m³ b and four BF with capacity 700 m³, totalling of 3.8 million mt of iron making capacity. The 505 m³ BF was demolished at the end of 2020, and the remaining four 700 m³ BFs are expected to be demolished in 2022.
