From January to June this year, Ukrainian steel mills produced 10.86 million tons of crude steel and 9.6 million tons of finished steel, up 7.5 per cent and 6.6 per cent respectively from a year earlier, according to preliminary data released by (Ukrmetallurgprom), a federation of Ukrainian steel producers.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's pig iron production reached 10.8 million tons in the same period, an increase of 8.1% over the same period last year.
