Daily crude steel output at CISA key mills rose 2.57% in mid-June

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.4 million mt per day in the second ten days of June, up 2.57% from early June and up 15.99% from the same period a year ago.

SHANGHAI, Jun 29 (SMM) – China's steel production increased in mid-June.

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.4 million mt per day in the second ten days of June, up 2.57% from early June and up 15.99% from the same period a year ago.

Average daily production of pig iron across those mills rose 2.16% from early June to 2.07 million mt in mid-June, and that of steel products rose 3.8% to 2.28 million mt.

As of June 20, inventories of steel products across those mills stood at 15.7 million mt, up 10.31% or 1.47 million mt from early June. The stocks were 2.28 million mt, or 17.02% higher than the end of last month. The stocks were 4.08 million mt, or 35.07% higher than the beginning of the year, and were 2.78 million mt, or 21.5% higher than the same period last year.
