Ukraine's bauxite imports increased by 12.3% from January to May compared with the same period last year.

According to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs of Ukraine, 2.185 million tons of bauxite and concentrate (bauxite) were imported in the first five months of 2021, an increase of 12.3% over the same period last year.

Imports of bauxite in currency terms rose 16.8 per cent to US $99.393 million from January to May. Bauxite mainly comes from Guinea, Brazil and Ghana. Guinean exports accounted for 60.15 per cent of the total supply (in currency terms), followed by Brazil (22.26 per cent) and Ghana (16.31 per cent).
