ArcelorMittal, a Brazilian steelmaker, says it plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 10 per cent by 2030 as part of ArcelorMittal's plan to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2050.

The chief executives of ArcelorMittal Brazil and flat carbon steel South America say reducing carbon dioxide emissions is a requirement of governments, society and steel consumers around the world.

The company's emission reduction measures include increasing the use of scrap steel, using natural gas, and optimizing the use of carbon in smelting.
