It is reported that ArcelorMittal has recently partnered with Stellantes, Fiat Chrysler and niobium manufacturer CBMM to develop a microalloyed steel product for the automotive industry.

The three companies will invest 1.2 million Brazilian reais (US $226100) in a two-year project aimed at developing a light steel product for use in Brazil's automotive industry. These companies hope to develop 100 per cent of Brazilian products and add niobium to microalloyed steel products.

It is understood that the project will be developed at the Senai Research Institute in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
