SHANGHAI, Mar 12 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces gained 2.75 percentage points on the week to 78.34% as of Friday March 12.

Lead-acid battery makers have basically returned to normal operations this week. E-bike battery makers recovered to full capacity as in-plant inventories fell rapidly as distributors restocked actively. Large and medium-scale automotive battery makers kept stable production, while small producers scheduled production according to orders. Demand for automotive batteries from distributors was tepid this week.

Operating rates are expected to be stable next week as manufacturers operate normally.
