Russia's NLMK2020 annual crude steel output totaled 15.8 million tons, up 1% from the same period last year.

(NLMK), a Russian steelmaker, announced production and sales figures for the fourth quarter of 2020 and for the whole year. According to the company's statement, NLMK's crude steel production in the fourth quarter totaled 3.9 million tonnes, up 1 per cent from the same period last year. In 2020, the company's crude steel production totaled 15.8 million tonnes, up 1 per cent from a year earlier.

In the fourth quarter, NLMK's total steel sales fell 5% from the previous quarter to 4.2 million tons, due to a decline in slab sales and year-end inventory growth and equipment upgrades.

In terms of foreign trade, in the fourth quarter of 2020, NLMK export sales totaled 1.6 million tons, up 21% from the same period last year, down 14% from the previous month, due to a decline in slab sales to third parties.

From January to December 2020, the company's export sales rose 17 per cent year-on-year to 6.8 million tonnes, driven by increased exports of pig iron and billets.
