Secondary lead smelters operating rates rose on production resumption at Guizhou smelters

Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 47.8% in the week ended January 15, up 2.1 percentage points from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Jan 15 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 47.8% in the week ended January 15, up 2.1 percentage points from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rates remained unchanged on the week at 47.1%, 71.9% and 33.3% in Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu respectively. 

The average operating rate in Guizhou gained 12 percentage points to 45.1% as Jinlong stepped up production after shortages of battery scrap eased and as Sanhe recovered from maintenance.

Operating rates are expected to be flat next week as smelters will keep stable production, Apart from the surveyd smelters, Jiangxi Xingwang and Inner Mongolia Taiding are expected to suspend production for the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday.
