SMM12 March 9: ball's important gold producer Newmont predicts that gold production will increase at a lower cost next year, hoping to consolidate the increase in demand during the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Gold production is expected to be 6.5 million ounces in 2021 and 6 million ounces this year, the company said. It will reach 6.7 million ounces by 2023 and 6.5 million ounces to 7 million ounces by 2025.
The company also said it expected costs to remain stable as production increased. According to Newmont, the total maintenance cost of gold by 2021 is about $970 an ounce ((AISC)). Further, AISC expects to be between $850 and $950 an ounce in 2022 and between $825 and $925 an ounce in 2023. AISC expects to rise to between $800,000 and $900an ounce by 2024-2025, it added.
