SHANGHAI, Nov 24 (SMM) – China exported 2.44 million mt of steel plate in October 2020, down 15.1% year on year, according to the latest customs data.
Exports in January-April also decreased 18.7% from the same period last year and came in at 26.9 million mt.
China's exports of steel bar stood at 470,000 mt, 34.6% lower on the year. This brought steel bar exports in the first ten months of the year down 31% from a year ago to 5.82 million mt.
Exports of steel wire rods posted 170,000 mt, up 7.3% on the year, with the accumulative exports in January-October 3.7% lower on the year at 1.65 million mt.
