ACindar, an Argentine steelmaker owned by ArcelorMittal, is increasing its crude steel production to meet the growing demand for steel products in the country's civil construction industry. SMM11, March 18 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /--

ACindar's chief executive said that since the outbreak began for market reasons, and then for health reasons, we have only one active blast furnace at the Villaconstitucion plant. In October, we resumed the second production line to increase crude steel production, and Acindar is also considering resuming one of its three mills to increase the production capacity of finished steel in order to supply to the domestic market.

Despite the challenges of the epidemic, CEO says it is now shipping more steel this year than it did in 2019.

Acindar's Villaconstitucion steel plant has an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons and produces long steel products such as steel bars and wire rods.
