Anglo American: iron ore output of Minas-Rio decreased by 18% due to overhaul

SMM10, March 23: Anglo American recently released a report showing that its production fell in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, due to the overhaul of its Minas-Rio iron ore mine in Brazil and the suspension of its (Grosvenor) coking coal business in Grosvenor, Australia.

The report showed that Minas-Rio 's iron ore production in Brazil fell 18 per cent to 5 million tons after the company suspended production for a month after an internal inspection of the pipeline.

Anglo American said that its current operation is about 95 per cent of normal capacity, with the exception of copper, platinum and thermal coal, all products are expected to remain unchanged for the whole year.
