







SMM: on August 10th, the 2020 Fortune 500 list was released. According to statistics, a total of 12 enterprises in the iron and steel industry are on the list. Among them, the top three steel companies are China Baowu Iron and Steel Group, ArcelorMittal and South Korea's Posco Iron and Steel Company, ranking 111th, 146th and 194th respectively.
On August 10, the Fortune Chinese website released a list of the Fortune 500 in 2020. According to statistics, there are 12 steel enterprises in the world's top 500 this year. China Baowu Group surpasses ArcelorMittal for the first time and ranks first among the world's steel enterprises.
Among the 12 world steel enterprises on the list, there are seven Chinese iron and steel enterprises, namely, China Baowu Iron and Steel Group, Hegang Group, Qingshan holding Group, Jiangsu Shagang Group, Angang Group, Shougang Group and Shandong Iron and Steel Group. Among them, Shandong Iron and Steel Group was on the list for the first time. The specific ranking is shown in the following table--
The revenue of this year's Fortune 500 companies reached an all-time high of $33 trillion, close to the combined GDP of China and the United States. The threshold for entry into the rankings (minimum sales revenue) has also been raised from $24.8 billion to $25.4 billion.
The most striking change in this year's ranking is the historic leap made by mainland Chinese companies: this year, the number of mainland Chinese companies, including Hong Kong, reached 124. With companies from Taiwan, a total of 133 Chinese companies are on the list. Among them, Sinopec, State Grid and PetroChina ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
