CAAM: China’s car sales surged 40% in April

Sales of automobile in China surged 39.8% to 2 million mt in April from a month earlier, according to the flash estimate by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released Thursday.

SHANGHAI, May 7 (SMM) – Sales of automobile in China surged 39.8% to 2 million mt in April from a month earlier, according to the flash estimate by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released Thursday.

 

This would inch up 0.9% from April 2019.

 

For the first four months of 2020, China’s car sales are estimated to reach 5.67 million units, down 32.1% from the same period the year before, compared to a 42.4% decline registered in the January-to-March period.
