Worldsteel: China crude steel production rose 5% YoY in February

China’s crude steel production increased 5% year on year to 74.8 million mt in February, according to calculations by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) based on a China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) production estimate.

SHANGHAI, Mar 24 (SMM) – China’s crude steel production increased 5% year on year to 74.8 million mt in February, according to calculations by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) based on a China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) production estimate.

 

China’s crude steel production in January was revised to be 79.9 million mt, up 1.4% from the same month of 2019.

 

Data published on Monday also revealed that world crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the Worldsteel increased 2.8% from a year ago to 143.3 million mt in February. The world production for January was revised to 150.7 million mt.
