Iron ore shipments from Australia recovered on improved weather

SMM estimates that there were 71 vessels carrying 11.42 million mt of iron ore arrived at major Chinese ports during February 16-22, up 1.01 million mt from the week ended February 15. 

SHANGHAI, Feb 25 (SMM) – SMM estimates that there were 71 vessels carrying 11.42 million mt of iron ore arrived at major Chinese ports during February 16-22, up 1.01 million mt from the week ended February 15


During the same period, iron ore deliveries leaving Australian ports increased 4.28 million mt on the week to 14.45 million mt, as the impact of tropical cyclones eased. 


Shipments that departed Brazilian ports were also estimated to rise 480,000 mt on the week, to 4.61 million mt. This was 1.78 million mt lower from the same period last year.
