The overhaul scheduled in early February for hot-rolled coil lines and blast furnaces will be delayed till the start of March

SHANGHAI, Feb 5 (SMM) – Anshan Iron & Steel or Ansteel, a major Chinese steelmaker in Liaoning province, said the overhaul scheduled in early February for its hot-rolled coil lines and blast furnaces will be delayed till early March as the maintenance crew is unavailable, likely due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company initially planned to conduct maintenance on its 2150mm hot-rolled coil production line for 55 days from February 4, which was estimated to impact daily production of HRC by 13,000 mt, or an overall output of 715,000 mt.

Ansteel originally planned to put its 3200m³blast furnace to overhaul on February 1, for 70 days. This could affect the production of molten iron by 6,000 mt/day, or a total of 420,000 mt.
