Long steel social inventories in Guangzhou jumped 14% on week

Stocks increased 14.07% from a week ago to 805,200 mt as of December 25

SHANGHAI, Dec 25 (SMM) – Social inventories of long steel (including wire rods and rebar) in Guangzhou rose this week for a fourth straight week, increasing 14.07% from a week ago to 805,200 mt as of Wednesday December 25, SMM data showed. The inventories were 21.16% higher than a year earlier.

For the same week, stocks of rebar gained 14.12% to 564,000 mt, up 44.54% year on year. Stocks of wire rods climbed 13.93% this week to 241,200 mt, 12.1% lower than the same period last year.

SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc ingots across Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Hebei decreased 12,100 mt in the week ended June 25 to 116,500 mt. The stocks fell 6,400 mt from Monday June 21.
