SHANGHAI, Dec 17 (SMM) – China’s production of crude steel fell in November for a third straight month, decreasing 1.5% from October to 80.29 million mt, according to SMM calculations based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on Monday.
From a year ago, the output rose 4% last month, compared to a 0.6% dip in October.
This brought production in the first 11 months of 2019 to 904.18 million mt, up 7% from the same period a year earlier.
In January to November, China’s production of pig iron rose 5.1% year on year to 738.94 million mt, and that of steel products expanded 10% to 1.1 billion mt.
