Tangshan steelmakers felt limited impact from earthquake

A magnitude-4.5 earthquake struck Tangshan city at around 8:02 CST on Dec 5

SHANGHAI, Dec 5 (SMM) – Steel mills in Tangshan, China's top steelmaking city, have maintained normal operation with limited impact from the earthquake that occurred in Fengnan district of the city on Thursday morning, SMM learned. 

According to China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a magnitude-4.5 earthquake struck Tangshan city in northern China's Hebei province at around 8:02 CST on December 5. 

It was reported that earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Beijing and Tianjin.
