The operating rate of SMM primary lead smelter in the three provinces was 57.7%, down 1.9% compared with the same period, Henan primary lead smelter was 70.2%, 6% lower than the same period, Yunnan primary lead smelter was 43.8%, up 5.9% over the same period, and Hunan primary lead smelter was 43.3%, unchanged from the same period.
According to SMM research, the reason for the average month-on-month decline in the operating rate of primary lead smelters in Henan on Wednesday was that large smelters in Henan began to overhaul, affecting the release of certain output, while in Yunnan, Mengzi smelter overhauled and completely released output, resulting in a month-on-month decline in the operating rate of primary lead smelters in the three places.
Although primary supply has fallen this week, domestic supply is still putting pressure on lead prices because of low downstream consumption and a further widening of regeneration and primary price differentials to 500 yuan per tonne.
