Recently, the world's major copper mining companies have released their output reports for the second quarter of this year. Overall, the copper production of the eight major global mining companies fell 5.2 percent in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period last year, and the interference rate of superimposed multiple mining areas rose, reflecting to some extent the tension at the global mining end.

SMM7, 25 March: recently, the world's major copper mining enterprises have released their own output reports for the second quarter of this year. Overall, the copper output of the eight major global mining enterprises fell 5.2% in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period last year. The rise in the interference rate of superimposed multi-mining areas can to a certain extent reflect the tense situation at the global mining end.

Antofagasta (Antofagasta Plc):

The second quarter performed well, with copper production up 22 per cent from 163200 tons in the same period last year to 198600 tons. The main cause is the high-grade copper deposit at the Centinela mine in northern Chile. So copper production reached 387300 tons in the first half of this year, also up 22.2 per cent from the first half of last year.

Southern Copper (Southern Copper):

Copper production in the second quarter was 256352 metal tons, up 16.5 per cent from a year earlier.

At present, the Tia Maria copper project owned by Southern Copper has attracted a lot of attention from the market.

This month Southern Copper was approved to build the $1.4 billion Tia Maria copper project, which is expected to help it become one of the world's top three metal miners and is expected to produce 120000 tons of copper a year.

But opponents of the project say there will be an indefinite strike until the permit is revoked. Protests broke out on 15 July.

OZ Mineral:

The company also achieved a 5.1 per cent year-on-year increase in copper production to 28525 tons in the second quarter, while the company also raised its copper production target for fiscal 2019, with copper production expected to rise from 97000 to 109000 metal tons to 103000 to 115500 metal tons in fiscal 2019.

Minmetals resource (MMG):

Its Kinsevere copper production reached 16463 tonnes in the second quarter, down 20 per cent from the same period last year, but up 31 per cent from the first quarter of this year. Copper production at its Las bambas and Rosebery copper mines totaled 84695 tons in the second quarter, down 15 per cent from a year earlier and 17 per cent from a month earlier.

Among them, the Las bambas copper mine has frequent interference incidents this year.

Earlier this year, people in the Fuerabamba community blocked roads in and out of the Las Bambas copper mine for more than two months, and the mine's copper concentrate output could not be sent to the port, leading Minmetals Resources to declare a Las Bambas mine sales contract to declare force majeure.

In mid-April Minmetals Resources finally reached an agreement with the indigenous community. Local indigenous communities have also agreed to remove roadblocks and Minmetals resources can normally transport copper concentrate from the Las Bambas copper mine, while fuel transport has returned to normal.
