South-China steel mill procures high-grade ferronickel at higher prices

SHANGHAI, Jul 18 (SMM) – A steel mill in south China this week purchased high-grade ferronickel at 1,080-1,090 yuan/mtu, including tax and transport, up from 980-1,000 yuan/mtu from the purchase a week earlier, SMM learned on Thursday July 18. 

Delivery is scheduled between end-August and mid-September. 

SMM assessments showed that prices of spot high-grade ferronickel followed nickel prices higher this week, standing at an average 992.5 yuan/mtu as of Thursday July 18, up 25 yuan/mtu from the previous week.
