SHANGHAI, Jul 15 (SMM) – Production of crude steel in China expanded 10% from a year ago to stand at 87.53 million mt in June, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday July 15.
This brought production in the first half of the year to 492.17 million mt, standing 9.9% higher than the same period last year, smaller than the increase of 10.2% seen in January-May.
For steel products, production rose 12.6% year on year to 107.1 million mt in June. Production in January-June amounted to 586.9 million mt, with a year-over-year increase of 11.4%.
