SHANGHAI, Jun 3 (SMM) – A stainless steel producer in China's south-western province of Guangxi began annual maintenance on its steel and hot-rolled coil capacity as its revenues fell below costs in a falling market, a source told SMM on Monday June 3.
The overhaul is expected to affect stainless steel output by 20,000 mt, with #201 products accounting for the majority. SMM learned that the mill has an annualised capacity of 470,000 mt.
Another stainless steel plant in Guangxi, with a capacity of 500,000 mt, planned to undergo maintenance for 12 days in June. This is estimated to impact the output of #200 series by 30,000 mt.
