Global crude steel production rises 6.4% on year in Apr: Worldsteel

China’s output accounted for 54.2%

SHANGHAI, May 29 (SMM) – The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) said earlier this week that crude steel production across 64 countries rose 6.4% from a year ago to stand at 156.7 million mt in April.

China’s output accounted for 54.2% or 85 million mt, an increase of 12.7% compared to April 2018.
