SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) – Inventories of aluminium billet in China shrank in the week to Thursday May 16 as downstream consumption picked up, SMM data showed.
Stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas decreased some 2,900 mt from Thursday May 9 to stand at 93,600 mt as of Thursday May 16, after a buildup of 1,600 mt in the previous week.

Foshan, Guangdong – 48,000 mt
Wuxi, Jiangsu – 18,000 mt
Changzhou, Jiangsu – 8,500 mt
Huzhou, Zhejiang – 11,500 mt
Nanchang, Jiangxi – 7,600 mt
