China launches gas safety checks across steel mills Apr-Nov

SHANGHAI, Apr 11 (SMM) – China launched safety checks and rectifications on steel mills to prevent gas accidents after 21 people were killed in three major incidents related to gas leaks in 2018.  

The safety checks are scheduled from April to November, according to a statement on the website of the Ministry of Emergency Management on Wednesday April 10. 

Steel companies involved in the production, storage and use of gas are included. 

Checks and rectifications will focus on gas safety management, equipment, and gas-related operation.
