The steelmaker put a bar production line, two rebar lines under maintenance due to a shortage of molten iron

SHANGHAI, Apr 11 (SMM) – Changzhou-based Zenith Steel, also called Zhongtian Iron & Steel, put a medium-sized bar production line and two rebar lines under maintenance as the overhaul of a 1,580 m³ blast furnace resulted in a shortage of molten iron.

Maintenance over the medium-sized bar production line started from April 1 and will last for 30 days. This is expected to impact output of φ50-200mm steel bar by 70,000 mt.

The two rebar production lines began maintenance from April 9 and will end on April 25, with output of some 110,000 mt likely to be impacted.
