SHANGHAI, Mar 26 (SMM) – Silicon metal buyers overseas remained quiet of late, SMM research found. Aside from some routine purchasing bids from large aluminium producers, orders for restocking accounted for the majority of recent, limited export deals.
Some specifications of silicon metal in Chinese markets extended declines on Tuesday. In Kunming, 553# that did not undertake oxygen-refining mostly traded at 10,600-10,800 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt from the previous day; the trading range of 553# that undertook oxygen-refining fell 50 yuan/mt from the prior day to 11,100-11,200 yuan/mt, SMM assessments showed.
