SHANGHAI, Mar 7 (SMM) – Bazhou city of Hebei province ordered all acid pickling facilities across the region to suspend from Thursday March 7.
SMM learned that many steel mills in the region have received the notice and stopped their rolling lines, and that over 90% of acid pickling plants in the region have suspended operation.
This is likely to tighten supplies of galvanised steel strips.
It remains unknown when those plants can resume.
