Xuanhua Iron & Steel under HBIS Group postponed its maintenance previously slated on Feb 20 to Mar 1

SHANGHAI, Feb 18 (SMM) – Xuanhua Iron & Steel, a subsidiary of China's biggest steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group (HBIS Group), postponed its maintenance, previously scheduled for February 20, SMM learned.

The plant will conduct week-long maintenance on its 2,500 m³ blast furnace from March 1, and this will affect daily production of molten iron by 5,600 mt.

Production lines of steel bar and wire rods will also undergo maintenance for a week from March 1, affecting daily output of rebar by 3,100 mt and coiled rebar by 2,000 mt.

Xiangtan Iron & Steel of Hunan Valin planned to put its #1 converter into maintenance for 13 days from February 20. This is expected to disrupt production of crude steel by 30,000 mt and February’s output of high-quality steel bar by 15,000 mt.
