SHANGHAI, Feb 1 (SMM) – Operating rates at lead-acid battery producers across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, and Hebei provinces declined by 17.41 percentage points from the previous week and averaged 42.53% in the week through February 1, showed SMM data.

This week, operations at most medium-sized and small lead-acid battery plants ground to a halt as workers began their CNY holiday.

Breaks at most mills commenced on February 1, except several large-sized producers of auto and communication batteries that will maintain regular operation until the eve of CNY on February 4.

After CNY, plants are expected to resume between February 10-19.
