Price CenterDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightSHANGHAI, Jan 23 (SMM) – China exported some 298 mt of steel scrap in December, down 99.8% from December 2017, according to China Customs data released on Wednesday January 23.
This lowered overall exports of steel scrap in 2018 by 85.2% on the year, to 332,343 mt.
Domestic imports of steel scrap also shrank 49.6% year on year, to 120,000 mt in December. Overall imports of the materials stood at 1.34 million mt in 2018, down 42.2% from 2017.
