SHANGHAI, Dec 10 (SMM) – China's imports of iron ore and concentrate in November shrank 2.43% on the month and dropped 8.77% on the year, standing at 86.25 million mt, showed data by China Customs on December 8.
This lowered year-to-date imports of iron ore and concentrate by 1.35% from January-November in 2017, to 978 million mt.
In November, China imported some 1.06 million mt of steel products, down 81,000 mt, or 7.12% from October. However, imports in January-November inched up some 0.5% on the year to 12.16 million mt, customs data showed.
Exports of steel products dipped some 202,000 mt, or 3.67% from October to stand at nearly 5.3 million mt in November.
This lowered overall exports of steel products in the first eleven months by 8.6% from last year, to 63.78 million mt, according to the data.
