Report: Xi'an shuts 15 high emission plants to reduce smog

SHANGHAI, Nov 7 (SMM) – Xi'an city in China's north-west province of Shaanxi shut, or relocated, 15 high emission coal-fired plants this year, according to local news. 

This reduced 1.02 million mt of coal consumption by the end of October, as part of efforts to resolve hazardous smog that blanketed north China.
