DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingSHANGHAI, Nov 7 (SMM) – China imported some 1.51 million mt of stainless steel in January-September, up 777,000 mt or 105.7% from the same period last year, showed China Customs data. Imports from Indonesia accounted for majority of the increase.
In January-September, China exported some 3.13 million mt of stainless steel products, up 87,000 or 2.9% mt from a year ago, the data showed. Unlike market expectations, the exports were little affected by trade war concerns.
In January-September of 2017, Chinese exports of stainless steel stood at 3.04 million mt, up only 2.7% on the year.
