SHANGHAI, Nov 5 (SMM) – Seventy vessels carrying 10.74 million mt of iron ore are likely to arrive at major Chinese ports during November 2-8, up 180,000 mt from arrivals during October 26 to November 1, SMM data showed.
This would be the third consecutive week for seaborne iron ore arrivals to register a week-on-week gain.
Arrivals to Rizhou port are expected to increase this week, some importers are likely to see many arrivals at Jingtang port while arrivals at Tianjin areas are expected to sharply decrease.
For the same period, iron ore shipments departing Australian ports will increase by 710,000 mt to 16.16 million mt, the highest in the second half of the year, while those leaving Brazilian ports will decrease by 490,000 mt to 7.38 million mt due to routine maintenance.
