Report: Jan-Sep crude steel production in Hunan up 13.6% YoY

In Sep, the province produced some 1.98 million mt of crude steel, up 10.61% from a year ago

SHANGHAI, Nov 2 (SMM) – Crude steel production in Hunan came in at 17.06 million mt in January to September this year, up nearly 13.6% from the same period in 2017, showed data from Chinese research firm ASKCI Consulting.

In September, the province produced some 1.98 million mt of crude steel, up 10.61% from a year ago. Output edged down month on month in August and September, after rising steadily during March-July on a monthly basis, according to the data.

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.14 million mt per day in the first ten days of July, down 5.56% from late June and up 0.32% from the same period a year ago.
