Poorer consumption extends decline in primary aluminium social stocks

Inventories came in at 1.525 million mt as of Nov 1, down some 13,000 mt from Oct 25

SHANGHAI, Nov 1 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, came in at 1.525 million mt as of Thursday November 1, down some 13,000 mt from Thursday October 25, SMM data showed.

Weaker downstream consumption of molten aluminium grew ingot supplies, and this extended the decline in social inventories. 

Stocks lost some 45,000 mt from Thursday October 18, to stand at 1.538 million mt as of Thursday October 25, SMM data showed.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 659,000 mt

Shanghai – 346,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 227,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 95,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 97,000 mt

Tianjin – 56,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 23,000 mt

Chongqing – 22,000 mt
