Report: Jan-Sep iron ore production in Zhejiang dips 43.5% YoY

Iron ore production in Zhejiang registered at 595,800 mt in Jan to Sep, down 43.5% from the same period in 2017

SHANGHAI, Oct 29 (SMM) – Iron ore production in Zhejiang province registered at 595,800 mt in January to September this year, down 43.5% from the same period in 2017, showed data from Chinese research firm ASKCI Consulting.

In September, the province produced some 67,800 mt of iron ore, down 46.2% from a year ago. Output in August and June also declined year on year, by 57.2% and 40.8%, to stand at 55,300 mt and 79,400 mt, respectively.

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that crude steel output across major mills in China averaged 2.14 million mt per day in the first ten days of July, down 5.56% from late June and up 0.32% from the same period a year ago.
