SHANGHAI, Oct 24 (SMM) – China exported 1,335 mt of steel scrap in September, down 99.7% on a yearly basis, according to the latest data from China Customs, taking the year-to-date volume to 334,049 mt, some 75.9% lower than September 2017
Customs data also showed that exports of flat steel products dropped 16.6% in September and stood at 3.51 million mt. Export volume totalled 30.44 million mt in January-September, down 10.7% from the same period last year.
China exported some 1.02 million mt of bar products in September. It imported 70,000 mt of steel scrap, 1.03 million mt of flat steel products and 90,000 mt of bar steel products in the same month.
Customs data showed that imports of steel scrap in September fell 54.2% from September 2017, and the year-to-date volume declined 37.9%.
